We’ve been family owned and operated since 1984, beginning in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia, and growing to become one of the largest fiberglass pools manufacturers in the world. Over the years, we’ve manufactured over 3,500 swimming pools annually.

In 2009, Barrier Reef Pools began manufacturing in the United States and opened a 50,000-square-foot facility in South Carolina to house our operations.

Once pool installers became familiar with the fiberglass pool and the ease of installation, the word got out. Soon pool installers were coming to us for more pools. At this point, the ability to produce the highest quality pools and to do it consistently has become a priority. This prompted the building of the manufacturing facility. Our plant was constructed in Timmonsville, South Carolina, and has been growing and expanding ever since to facilitate the demand of the market.

From the onset, our vision was to establish the best fiberglass swimming pool manufacturer in the U.S., and to this day that vision remains the same. There are many facets that go into making a fiberglass pool, but the most important component is the “gel coat”.
